A component of NBCC is the Center for Credentialing and Education (www.cce-global.org) which provides for exam development and the certification for a number of related professional disciplines. The CPCE is administered through this Center.

Over 340 universities and colleges have an agreement to use the CPCE for their counselor training students. Most use it as an exit exam prior to the awarding of a degree.

At this time, the CPCE is administered in a paper-and-pencil format. The Center has expectations that the CPCE will move to a computer-based experience.

Because the CPCE addresses the same eight content areas as the NCE, NBCC believes that exam prep materials which are useful for one of the exams are also useful for the other.
