Exam Schedule

The NCE and other exams provided by NBCC to states for licensure as well as for national certification are:

October 19, 2013

April 12, 2014

Computer-Based Testing

On their website (www.nbcc.org), NBCC indicates that 46 states now provide exam testing services on computer. The other states (Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, and Wyoming), use the paper-and-pencil format.

NBCC has contracted with AMP, Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. (www.goamp.com) to provide computer testing services. AMP does certification and licensure testing for about 40 organizations (including financial, healthcare, real estate) at the state and federal levels. Approximately ten states have only one such computer testing location for counselor licensure testing; most states have multiple locations.
